The Gurdaspur MP will use the funds for purchasing necessary medical equipment needed to fight the virus.


 “I am withdrawing Rs 50 lakh from MPLADS fund so Gurdaspur doesn’t need to face difficulty fighting this pandemic,” Deol wrote on Twitter.

Rajinikanth

As B-Town celebs pledged to assist the countrymen in times of crisis, the superstars from South also rallied behind to assist the needy. South mega star Rajinikanth came to the rescue of these worst hit by the pandemic, by donating Rs 50 lakh to the daily wage workers of the South movie industry .

The actor had donated the quantity to the Film Employees Federation of South India (FEFSI) Union workers who were facing a shutdown thanks to the coronavirus outbreak.

The South movie industry , very similar to B-Town, was facing losses and was given a hand by Rajini.



Prabhas


Following in Rajinikanth’s footsteps, Prabhas too made a big donation to the needy. 

As per a PTI report, the ‘Baahubali’ star donated a whopping Rs 4 crore towards Covid-19 relief.

Out of the donation amount, the ‘Saaho’ star pledged Rs 3 crore to the Prime Minister's relief fund and Rs 50 lakh each to 

Chief Minister's relief fund of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

Kapil Sharma


Comedian Kapil Sharma, too, stood up for the state and donated a sum of Rs 50 lakh to the Prime Minister Relief Fund to assist fight coronavirus within the country.

The star of ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ made the announcement via a tweet, where he urged his fellow Indians to face up, and fight the pandemic.

Angelina Jolie




Hollywood star and humanitarian, Angelina Jolie, donated $ 1 million each to assist relief efforts amid the coronavirus pandemic. Jolie is contributing to the No Kid Hungry organisation to stay underprivileged children from going hungry during the Covid-19 outbreak.



Rihanna


Continuing to lend a hand during the coronavirus pandemic, singer Rihanna donated protective equipment to ny state's overloaded hospitals.

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo took to Twitter on Friday, thanking the ‘Umbrella’ hitmaker and her foundation on behalf of the state for providing the supplies that are desperately needed for medical professionals.
